External speakers stopped working properly on pc sound is distorted they work fine on my laptop. How do I fix?

My pc has no internal speaker. They powered set I have worked fine for many years. They sound like the speaker cones are torn. They sound great in my laptop. What do I do to fix it? I have downloaded drivers from HP/Compaq. There where no drivers on the Altec Lansing site. Don’t know what else to do. Thanks in advance.

Problem with Altec Lansing FX6021 PC Speakers?

Even if they are not plugged into my PC or any other device, they still make this loud staticy clicking type noise. Is this radio interference? Bad wiring?
